Suicide Bombing in Pakistan Kills Nineteen.

A suicide bomber has alledgedy rammed his car into the back of a police station in northwest Pakistan on Monday killing at least 19 people.

Recent bombings have ended a relative lull in militant violence over the past month and has added to pressure on a government struggling to cope with devastating floods that have made millions homeless, hammered the economy and caused widespread destruction.

It is believed thatal Qaeda- and Taliban-linked militants are behind the renewed attacks.

Nineteen people have been killed. There are nine policemen and two children among the dead. thirty four people, including twenty policemen, were wounded.

Rescue workers and police officials were digging through rubble at the station in the town of Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local TV footage showed emergency workers using heavy machinery to move the rubble of the mostly destroyed police station.

Books and a schoolbag could be seen in the wreckage and the twisted frames of a motorcycle and a car sat nearby. A neighborhood shop and mosque also were partly destroyed.
