Oprah Winfrey to Australia in December.
Oprah Winfrey kicked off her 25th and final season of The Oprah Winfrey Show on Monday, announcing she was sending 300 members of her audience on a trip to Australia in December.
John Travolta made a guest apperance dressed as a Quantas pilot. The Hollywood star and licensed commercial pilot, will fly them over for the eight-day, seven night trip.
The trip will take in beaches, Sydney Harbour and the Great Barrier Reef. Winfrey will also film an episode of her show at the Sydney “Oprah” House.
It is believed that the Australian government is spending $2.8 million (AUS$3 million) on the trip to help bring The Oprah Winfrey Show to the country as a way to boost tourism.
While Monday’s season premiere is the beginning of the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show, it’s not the end of Winfrey. She’s set to launch her own television channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network, in 2011.
